Snohomish County Overview
Snohomish County Superior Court
The Snohomish County Superior Court in Everett is one of the busier trial courts in Washington State. Presiding Judge Jennifer R. Langbehn leads a bench that handles a high volume of felony criminal cases each year. The court has general jurisdiction over all felony matters in the county, from initial appearances through sentencing and post-conviction motions.
All felony cases that originate as district court filings for probable cause determination eventually move to Superior Court if the prosecutor files charges. Once a case is in Superior Court, the clerk's office maintains the complete file. This includes the charging document, all motions and responses, transcripts if ordered, and the judgment and sentence if the case was resolved by plea or trial.
The Snohomish County Superior Court page has general information about the court, including links to court services and judicial assignments. Use it as a starting point if you are not sure which part of the court you need to contact.

Online Search Tools for Snohomish County Records
The Odyssey Portal covers Snohomish County and lets you search for felony cases by name or case number at no cost. Case summaries, docket entries, and party information appear in public search results. Not every document is attached, but the docket gives you a useful overview of what has been filed.
The Washington State Courts name search is a simpler free tool. It lets you look up a person's court cases across Washington. For Snohomish County specifically, Odyssey tends to give more detail, but the name search is faster for initial lookups.
JIS-Link is a subscription service available from the Washington courts website. It provides deeper docket access than the public portal and is used mainly by attorneys and researchers who need detailed case tracking across the state. Most people searching for felony records will not need JIS-Link, but it is the professional option for high-volume searches.
For a confirmed criminal history backed by fingerprint records, use the WATCH system. WATCH draws from the Washington State Patrol's database and covers all Washington convictions, not just Snohomish County. This is the most reliable tool for verifying whether someone has a felony conviction in Washington.
Sheriff's Office and Arrest Records
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is at 3025 Oakes Avenue in Everett. The sheriff's office maintains jail roster information for current inmates and handles records requests for arrest reports and incident reports. This is separate from the court clerk's system.
A jail roster shows who is currently held at the county jail. This does not tell you about past cases or convictions. For past felony cases, you need to search the court records through the clerk or the Odyssey Portal. The jail roster is a real-time tool, not a historical one.
The sheriff's website also posts information about scam alerts, including notices about fake jury duty calls. This is relevant because scammers sometimes impersonate sheriff's deputies to demand money. Real court and law enforcement agencies do not ask for payment over the phone to clear warrants.

JIS-Link and Professional Access
For attorneys, courts, and researchers who need ongoing access to Washington court dockets, JIS-Link provides a subscription-based portal with detailed case information. The JIS-Link page explains subscription tiers and the application process. Snohomish County cases are included in the statewide JIS system.

Most individual users will find Odyssey and WATCH sufficient, but JIS-Link is the right tool for professional or high-volume court record work.
The Digital Archives are also worth checking for older Snohomish County felony cases. The Washington State Digital Archives holds historical court records from across the state. For cases that predate electronic filing, the archives may have indexed records going back decades.
Washington State Criminal Record Laws
Snohomish County felony records are subject to state law. RCW 10.97, the Criminal Records Privacy Act, is the primary statute governing public access to criminal history in Washington. Conviction data is generally public. Non-conviction data, including arrests without charges or charges that resulted in acquittal, is restricted.
Under RCW 9.94A.640, qualifying individuals can petition to have a felony conviction vacated after they have completed their sentence. If a court grants vacation, the record will not appear in WATCH searches. The court file may still exist at the clerk's office but is treated differently once vacated. This is why some expected convictions do not appear in searches.
Sealed records present a similar issue. A judge can seal a court file when privacy interests are found to outweigh public access interests. If a Snohomish County case is sealed, it will not appear in Odyssey results. The clerk cannot confirm details about sealed records to the public. If you know a case existed but cannot find it, ask the clerk whether it might be sealed.
