Pierce County Superior Court and Parkland Felony Cases

All felony charges filed against people from Parkland are handled by Pierce County Superior Court. The Superior Court has general jurisdiction over Class A, B, and C felonies under Washington law, and Parkland cases are no different. Because Parkland is unincorporated, there is no separate city court. Everything goes through the county system in Tacoma.

Pierce County Superior Court is located in Tacoma and maintains records of all felony cases from initial arraignment through sentencing and any post-conviction proceedings. The Clerk's Office handles records requests, certified copies, and case file access. Standard copy fees in Pierce County are $0.50 per page for non-certified copies. Certified copies cost $5 for the first page plus $1 for each additional page.

The court's main line for records matters is (253) 798-7455. For District Court questions, call (253) 798-7487. For Juvenile Court records, call (253) 798-7973. Each of those courts maintains its own records separately, so make sure you're contacting the right one for the type of case you need.

The statewide Washington Courts case search is another free option that searches across multiple counties at once. If you're not certain whether a Parkland case was filed in Pierce County or elsewhere, the statewide tool is a good starting point.

Statewide Conviction Search for Parkland Felony Records

The WSP WATCH system is the official statewide source for conviction data in Washington. You can access it at watch.wsp.wa.gov for $11 per name-based search. Enter a name and date of birth, and results show conviction records from Washington courts statewide, including Pierce County cases tied to Parkland. The results come back right away online.

Under RCW 10.97, the Criminal Records Privacy Act, non-conviction data is restricted. This means dismissed charges, acquittals, and arrests that did not result in conviction are not visible through WATCH. Only actual convictions appear in WATCH results.

If an individual had a conviction vacated under RCW 9.94A.640, that record will not appear in public searches either. Vacation removes the conviction from the individual's criminal history for most purposes once the court grants the petition.

Note: The Washington State Digital Archives at digitalarchives.wa.gov may have historical Pierce County court records for older Parkland cases that predate the LINX system.

DOC Offender Search and Corrections Data

The Washington State Department of Corrections provides two useful public search tools. The DOC Offender Search shows people currently incarcerated in Washington state prisons. If someone from Parkland is serving a felony sentence in a state facility, this tool will find them by name or DOC number.

The DOC Warrant Search lists individuals with active Secretary's Warrants for people under DOC supervision who have violated community custody conditions. The list includes name, date of birth, and warrant issue date. Contact local law enforcement or the DOC warrant unit at (800) 543-0666 if you have information about a wanted person. Do not attempt to apprehend anyone yourself.

VINE is available at vinelink.com or by calling (800) 284-3463 for automated notification when an offender's custody status changes. This covers state prisons and participating county jail facilities.
